Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The Injection Molding Engineering Supervisor is responsible for directing a small team of Engineers in the areas of production, safety, maintenance and quality. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of ‘hands-on’ injection molding and similar experience dealing in rubber polymers as well as supervisory experience. The position will require competencies that include molding, tooling, quality inspection and supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Responsibilities:

◦Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output

◦Lead a small team of people in execution of daily production tasks and in continuous improvement

◦Evaluate and assign work in accordance with priorities and individual skills.

◦Annually evaluate performance of individual subordinates.

◦Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair and maintenance when needed.

◦Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.

◦Schedule required project reviews and secure agreement with other departments

◦Coordinate with outside vendors regarding maintenance and repair for tooling and equipment

◦Keep up to date on new materials, processes and applications as they apply to our products and recommend improvements (performance, cost, etc.).

◦Identify and recommend improvements to the product development process.

◦Identify and recommend training needed to improve efficiency.

◦Additional responsibilities and tasks to be assigned as needed based on organizational and company needs

Skills and Experience

Educational Requirements:

◦BSME or Equivalent required.

Experience Requirements:

◦5 to 7 years engineering experience as a senior level Engineer. Management experience is preferred. Strong team leadership skills, project management skills, interpersonal and facilitation skills required.


Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
