APS-3: Technical Auditor

Under direction of Quality Manager, the auditor is responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the internal audit plan, ensuring that audited processes comply with associated documentation, applicable standards, regulations, and customer requirements and that resulting audit reports are fair, impartial, and beneficial. The Quality Auditor will interface regularly with employees and management on issues related to processes, continual improvement and process deficiencies.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Conducts internal audits of Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Process Flows (including maintenance, logistics, quality, safety, environmental and security programs) at the direction of the Quality Manager

• Develops audit plans and interacts with functional areas to perform audits in a timely manner

• Works with process owners to develop risk-based analysis of operations and processes

• Assists teams in Root Cause Analysis utilizing 5-Why and Fishbone methodologies

• Makes recommendations on changes to the program, work methods and procedures that reflect organizational needs

• Assists in the development of Value Stream Maps for APS-3 operations; Identifying process interactions, inputs and outputs

• Assists in documenting and revising technical work processes (SOP’s, WI, Forms, Process Maps)

• Coaches and motivates team members and auditees

• Enhances communication by facilitating team meetings

• Works to resolve or assist in the resolution of ISO 9001 QMS related issues

• Performs verification of corrective and preventive actions

• Identifies, reports and coaches safety and the importance of Zero Harm

• Participates in employee QMS training

• Participates in APS-3’s continuous improvement processes

• Provides support in the operation of the organization's ISO 9001 Quality Management System

• Assists in development of ISO 9001 audit schedule

• Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• US Citizen

• Documented experience in an ISO 9001:2015 environment or similar quality management system

• Current ISO 9001:2015 auditor certification a plus

• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and written skills

• Demonstrates a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint

• Computer skills are fundamental to successful performance

• Prior military service in any branch is desirable

• Must be able to pass a base background check and obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)

Education:

• Associates Degree or at least two years of post-high school education in a business, management or quality field of study (this requirement may be offset by five years of previous on the job experience in any quality, business, management or continuous improvement program).

• Minimum of high school diploma with documented evidence of five years’ experience in auditing and quality management systems.
