Oracle Business Architect, HCM Up Market Enterprise Sales in Charleston, South Carolina

Responsible for leading business-focused, enterprise-level, architecture initiatives; engaged with business/IT customer stakeholders, partners, and Oracle sales and consulting teams; developing a customers architecture vision, future state architectures, and implementable architecture roadmaps in the context of solutions Oracle can offer; using Oracle's EA framework, processes and portfolio; calculating and expressing the value of those solutions to the customer; able to align a customers business strategy and objectives with an enabling Oracle based IT architecture and infrastructure.

Facilitates collaborative architecture development sessions with customer, IT and/or LOB executives. Analyzes and creates architecture models based on continuous feedback loop with key customer personnel. Implements and guides customer architecture teams in using EA frameworks, governance and architecture process. Leverages existing industry and Oracle reference architectures and utilizes specialty architecture knowledge. Influences and recommends architecture solutions and roadmaps to customer IT and/or LOB executives. Understand IT challenges and current state, influence IT strategy, suggest suitable Oracle products and services, collaborate on architecture development and future state of roadmap, collaborate with implementers on transition plan. Influence customers towards a recommended business/IT architecture anchored by Oracle solutions articulating its value to the customer.

Relevant Oracle Architect certification such as Oracle Enterprise Architect or Oracle Business Architect. Certification must be obtained within the first 12 months of entering the role if new hire. Strong analytical, facilitation and communication skills (informal, formal, written, verbal and graphical). Experience applying Enterprise and Business architecture and IT frameworks such as TOGAF, FEA/DODAF, MIT-Sloan, Zachman, Gartner, ITIL and COBIT. 12 years of experience working with customers at an enterprise level. Enterprise and/or Business architecture credentials are highly valued. B.S. or B.A. college degree (or higher) preferred.

The North America Applications (NAA) Presales Engineering Team focused on Human Capital Management is seeking an experienced Presales Business Architect to support Oracle's leading portfolio of Cloud HCM applications and industry solutions.As part of the Oracle Strategic Accounts Solution Engineering team, you’ll be strategically working with the largest companies in the world. You will partner with the sales team and other Solution Engineers to help customers evaluate how Oracle cloud solutions can bring value to their businesses. You will become a trusted advisor, assisting these customers maximize the benefit of their IT investments.

This individual is a thought leader and customer advisor who brings a breadth of knowledge and understanding of HCM solutions, industry best practices and business processes across the HCM domain. They have the ability to articulate the optimal roadmap and software approach specific to the clients’ needs. They will have great listening and analytical skills to analyze the business needs of the client to architect the Oracle solution for the customer’s objectives. They will exercise creativity, independent judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to design business solutions to meet customer needs. Additionally a solid understanding of cross pillar interoperability, platform advantages and best practices are a core component of the role.

_Responsibilities:_

  • Work with Oracle’s largest customers to understand their current business challenges and determine how Oracle Cloud solutions can support their business objectives.

  • Creation of sales cycle strategies in order to win business, contributing to the achievement of product/business unit sales targets

  • Support sales representatives with prospect/customer qualification, discovery, solution design, RFP response, solution preparation/demonstration and overall sales cycle management.

  • Actively maintain solid knowledge of a wide range of Oracle offerings, most notably the Human Capital Management suite of products.

  • Lead a diverse group of resources to successfully execute each step in a sales cycle. Coordinate sales cycle including deal onboarding, preparation, unified messaging/win themes, dry runs and successful presentations.

  • Demonstrate leadership abilities and superior presentation skills in a fast-paced environment, including delivery of executive-level presentations and product demonstrations as appropriate.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of competition and external factors that may influence Oracle's competitive position.

  • Create and maintain relationships with key product stakeholders like Product Marketing, Development, Strategy, Partners, etc.

  • Transition sales activities to post-sales teams. Provide after-the-sale support as required to ensure customer success and reference-ability.

  • Work with Systems Integrators and other external parties to educate/advocate Oracle Cloud applications.

  • Conduct other business development activities as appropriate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years of experience with business applications including 3 years of experience in a Solution Lead or Solution Architect role

  • Previous sales engineering (Pre-Sales) experience with knowledge of Oracle Applications (e.g., on-premise or cloud applications) and/or competitive offerings (e.g., SAP, Ultimate Kronos Group, Workday) is a plus

  • Ability to discuss key industry issues at multiple levels (C-Level to Functional Managers)

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and under pressure

  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading teams of people to achieve a common goal… yet also motivated to work highly independently when needed.

  • Experience in application solution architecture

  • Excellent executive presence and presentation skills, both verbal and written

  • Experience with Fortune 500 accounts.

  • Travel as needed, up to 50%
