Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering preferred; will consider Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience; 10 years of experience preferred
Will consider experience in lieu of education with formal plastic process training and 10+ years of experience
Experienced in scientific (decoupled) injection molding preferred
Experience/training in Project Management preferred, PMP certification a plus
Demonstrated leadership with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate; MS Word, Power Point, Excel, 2D/3D CAD
Demonstrated experience with product-launch: Costing, DFM, APQP/PPAP
Demonstrated experience with Lean and Six-Sigma
Process Improvement - problem solving/trouble shooting/prevention
Quality – use of statistical tools, process capability
Productivity, Planning, cost reduction, value improvement
Workflow/routings/BOM, experience with SAP preferred
Must have desire to be a “hands-on” leader – future potential for a leadership role
What You’ll Do
As a Process Engineer, Injection Molding, you’ll be part of our Global Tools & Storage (GTS) team located in Cheraw, SC. Specifically, you’ll:
Be responsible for employee safety in the molding department and actively participates in plant safety initiatives.
Strives to reduce risk and continuously improve EH&S standards to meet plant goals.
Assist in the development of conceptual processes and cost development for new products and engineering changes to existing product.
Establish molding processes parameters, secondary operation procedures, standard work and documentation, for all new or revised product designs.
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Injection Molding Process Technicians.
Assist in the development and execution of both theoretical and practical training applications for Process Technicians and other Molding Associates.
Assist in annual audits of product structure, overhead allocation and material cost for maintaining and controlling fixed and variable costs.
Implement process controls, conducts root-cause analysis, and applies statistical and Lean Six-Sigma techniques to maintain and improve product quality and yield.
Coordinate with Maintenance and Management to ensure all equipment/tooling is operational, well maintained, rebuilt as needed, or replaced as necessary.
Identify capital equipment needs and justifies expenditures, and if approved, specifies and requisitions equipment, assists in installation/debugs of equipment, and ensures proper training of associated personnel.
Work directly with Product Engineering to develop and maintain product routing and bill of material information.
Assist with physical inventory to locate, identify, quantify and account for material used in the manufacture of our products.
Perform other tasks as directed.
