U.S. Bank Business Technology Analyst 5 - Foreign Exchange (FX) in Columbia, South Carolina

The Business Technology Analyst will serve as a business leader who will define, design, build and implement business and technology solutions to meet Foreign Exchange (FX) product sales, trading, compliance and risk management requirements. As a Business Technology FX specialist, the position will lead technology teams and be the primary liaison between those teams and Sales, Trading and other departments to ensure solutions optimize client experience and provide effective Front Office functionality, especially in the implementation of a new trading platform. The position will work with several development methodologies including Agile Scrum and waterfall across internal and vendor development teams.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Eight or more years of experience in project management, and computer technology applications and analysis

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • 5 yrs in FX business or Risk, Audit, or Technology function with direct FX support. Candidate must have thorough knowledge of FX products and market trading practices. Candidate should be familiar with FX regulatory and risk management practices.

  • Demonstrated mature analytic abilities to continually assess business needs, product and regulatory changes, process improvements, critical product attributes, required decisions and system impacts. Experience as Agile Product Owner a plus.

  • Delivers consistently on deadlines. Works with sense of urgency, looking to advance progress and follows-up on tasks independently. Consistently applies trading risk management principles to problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex information simply. Able to create artifacts which will support extensive audit and regulatory examination.

  • Able to manage ambiguity and conflict in highly dynamic and decentralized trading environment.

  • Enjoys coaching and supporting a work team through challenging circumstances.

  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with SharePoint, Visio. Exposure to VersionOne a plus.
