Natural Resources Conservation Service Management Analyst in Columbia, South Carolina
This position is located in the South Carolina state office, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
Leads data collection and integrity efforts to support performing statistical analysis, developing methodologies and analytics products on agency workload and staffing
Supports the development of quantitative methods and models for workforce planning
Utilizes databases and spreadsheets to collect and analyze data and develop data visualizations using tools such as tableau
Evaluates business management practices and operations and makes recommendations to promote efficiency; and
Organizes data sets and produces analyses to optimize business operations
Conditions of Employment
Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the Federal GS-9 level or higher, that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience MUST have included: Proficient quantitative skills using statistical methodology to improve business operations, particularly supporting workforce planning; Intermediate skills in building data analytics tools to improve operational efficiency and performance; Collect, evaluate, and standardize data from multiple sources and structure analysis into clear results and presentations; Experience in at least one statistical programming language, such as R, Stata, and SAS; and Demonstrated ability to create visual representations of data using software such as tableau. OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the Federal GS-12 level or higher, that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience MUST have included: Experience using statistical methodology to improve business operations, particularly supporting workforce planning; Experience building data analytics tools to improve operational efficiency and performance; Creating visual representations of data using software such as tableau; Developing, analyzing and evaluating programs and policies; and Developing life cycle and cost analysis of projects and performing cost benefit or economic evaluations.
