Palmetto Health Monitor Tech in Columbia, South Carolina
Recognizes, reports and manages EKG arrhythmia data to the nurse and patient medical record as assigned. May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of non-prescription medications.

Performs responsibilities accurately, timely, and safely for assigned patients/area.
Communicates and informs appropriate personnel, patients and family members of pertinent information in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate paper and electronic documentation.
Utilizes equipment and supplies safely and appropriately; orders supplies as needed; labels specimens correctly.
Accurately recognizes and reports arrhythmia and EKG related computer data according to Policies/Procedures.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required and successful completion of a monitor tech (CCT) course from an accredited organization.
Experience: 1 year CCT experience is required if they do not meet the monitor tech training requirements above. Computer experience is required.

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Current CPR required prior to start date directly through the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the military. (To register: Blended Learning or In Person CPR AED through the American Red Cross;or Classroom or Skills Session Heartsaver CPR AED through the American Heart Association. Certification must include an in-person skills session.)
Special Training: Must possess skills necessary to care for patients. Successful completion of support staff orientation is required.
