Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Plant Manager for the Columbia Sand & Gravel plant located in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Area Manager of Operations, the Plant Manager is responsible for providing direction to staff, as well as Leadership and Management for all departments. The position is responsible for production of approximately 350,000 tons of sand and leading a planned, predictive, and preventative maintenance program.

What you'll get to do:
Establish a culture that supports safety and employee engagement in the business.
Works with staff, trains personnel, management and operational staff in production, maintenance and shipping procedures.
Follows all company policies and safety procedures.
Implements and monitors procedures to maximize plant efficiency while controlling cost of production.
Coordinates necessary loading of trucks.
Manages critical spares and minimizes inventory cost.
Maintains a maintenance backlog and plan for preventive maintenance.
Ensures a safe and clean working environment in the operating facility.
Leads weekly tailgate safety and department meetings.
Audits production, maintenance and shipping processes to promote best practices.
Works with operations management to develop yearly budgets.
Creates and oversees a detailed maintenance plan.
Who we are looking for:
High School Diploma or equivalent, College Degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Sand and Gravel experience is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information, professional journals, and technical procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, total cost, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, total quantities and volume.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to communicate clear and concise instructions in a professional manner.
Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office programs and other related software
Valid driver’s license.
Employee will sit, walk and climb
Occasionally required to sit while in company vehicle or office
Must be able to walk comfortably up to a mile daily
Frequently will be required to push/pull and climb ladders no greater than 20ft. at a time.
Requires balance and equilibrium when climbing ladders; waling catwalks or stairway and ladders.
Requires use of feet to repetitive movements such as driving, walking, climbing stairway and ladders.
Frequently will be required to travel catwalks no less than 10 degrees inclined and no greater than 20 degrees inclined at a varying distances less than 200 feet occasionally, up to 800 feet frequently and 2,500 feet occasionally.
Frequently will be required to climb stair cases up to 110 feet in elevation
Frequently required to reach above shoulders to climb ladders and occasionally standing
Light to medium level work; exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and /or 25 pounds of force frequently, and /or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Regularly requires use of both hands for grasping and fine manipulations for repetitive motions
Constantly required to hear sounds and have clarity of near, far and peripheral sight with depth perception.
