Recruiting Specialist

Works with manager to ensure that an active, diversified, qualified, and work-ready candidate pool is maintained to meet short- and long-term staffing strategies for the divisions supported; coordinates and performs preliminary staffing activities, which includes but not limited to, screening applications and resumes, interpreting and comparing qualifications against job requirements, and preparing draft advertisements as necessary; conducts initial telephone or personal interviews; selects and refers viable candidates for testing; coordinates all travel logistics for candidates and initiates written responses to all other applicants

Responsibilities:

  • Works with manager to ensure that an active, diversified, qualified, and work-ready candidate pool is maintained to meet short- and long-term staffing strategies for the divisions supported; coordinates and performs preliminary staffing activities, which includes but not limited to, screening applications and resumes, interpreting and comparing qualifications against job requirements, and preparing draft advertisements as necessary; conducts initial telephone or personal interviews; selects and refers viable candidates for testing; coordinates all travel logistics for candidates and initiates written responses to all other applicants

  • Implements sourcing strategy priorities and assists with recruiting by screening applicants; identifies candidates for open positions through various channels, including internal employee self-nominations, internal transfers, employee referrals, Internet postings, Internet data research, and direct recruiting

  • Assists as needed in conducting formal on-site interviews; participates in the actual hiring processes, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all pre-employment paperwork; assists with recruiting functions such as job fairs and other outreach activities

  • Administers requisition tracking and maintains systems and processes for capturing, accessing, and managing data to support the account manager or university relations coordinator; develops consistent data reporting practices, enhances staffing reporting information quality, and provides accurate staffing reports; maintains metrics on search activities and results

  • Collects and organizes employment statistical data for EEO reporting and other department reports; maintains effective and accurate online records, databases, or filing systems that provide a quick reference database for information, including, but not limited to, job postings, related qualified candidates, interview and selection notes, recruiting and hiring statistical and financial reports that show the department's accomplishments, productivity levels, operating costs, etc.; releases information according to company policies and procedures; audits files at specific intervals to identify and purge outdated or unnecessary items and ensures confidentiality of records

  • Searches a wide variety of resources (job boards, databases, networking sources, referrals, etc.) for qualified candidates, and provides timely and innovative sourcing results; networks to identify qualified referrals and develop leads, and convinces qualified candidates to speak further with a recruiter

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Required High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Minimum Required 3 years of related work experience

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of sourcing and recruiting
