The Department of Social Sciences at The University of South Carolina Beaufort invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Psychology, pending final budgetary approval. Area of specialization is open, but candidates with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology (or a closely related field) are of particular interest. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses that support the psychology core curriculum including Introductory Psychology, and such specialty courses as Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Clinical Psychology, and Personality Theory, as well as courses tied to their specialization. An Assistant Professor teaches four undergraduate courses per semester with a mix of face-to-face classroom and online delivery. Faculty are also expected to participate in university, department, and discipline service as well as maintain a research program that engages undergraduate students. This position is a 9-month appointment, commencing August 2019. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and subject to available funding.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate by August 2019 in Psychology (or a closely related field), have prior university teaching experience in the classroom and (preferably) online, and demonstrate evidence of effective teaching, a record of intellectual contributions, and institutional service commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor.
