Coastal Carolina University Housing Maintenance Technician - Painter - CCU in Conway, South Carolina

Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the full-time position of Housing Maintenance Technician, Painter (Trades Specialist IV) in University Housing. This is a full-time position with benefits.Normal work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday / Must be able to work overtime, including before start of shift, at end of shift, weekends, etc.Duties include, but are not limited to:Performing journey level work in the painting, finishing, and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structuresDelivering and utilizing ladders and elevated platformsCovering surfaces with drop cloths or plastic to ensure protectionRemoving fixtures and electric switch cover prior to painting and using painters tape where appropriate to protect from paint drops, drips and spillsPerforming high-level trade skills in the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, appliance, and carpentryMaintaining documentation regarding work activities through housing software solutionRequesting and maintaining equipment and materialsInspecting housing facilities and equipmentMoving furniture, supplies, and equipmentWorking collaboratively with constituentsUtilizing safety practices and completing required trainingsMaintaining safe and clean working environmentFollowing departmental rules, regulations, and protocolsParticipating in on-call rotationCompleting general custodial workPerforming others duties as assignedQualifications:High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years related work experience in all phases of general and preventative maintenance, including painting are requiredMust have a valid state drivers license and satisfactory 3-year driving recordMust have working knowledge of operations and use of equipment and tools used in the general maintenance of buildings including common hand tools and portable, hand-held power toolsMust be able to operate University vehicles including vans, trucks, golf carts, forklifts, and man-lift devisesThis position requires the ability to understand oral and written instructions as well as the ability to communicate effectively emergency and general repairs and/or adjustments to equipmentPlease click How to Apply in order to see the next step in the application process
