Job Responsibilities

The Thad E. Saleeby Developmental Center is an ICF satellite of Pee Dee Center located in Hartsville, South Carolina serving consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Provides leadership and direction to professional and paraprofessional nursing personnel in consumer care, consumer/employee education and counseling, coordination of services for consumers and their families and consumer needs assessment.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

­Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and one year of related nursing experience. Requires a valid S. C. Driver’s License. Requires certification in basic life support and/or basic advanced cardiac life support. Knowledge of the techniques and practices of the nursing profession. Knowledge of administrative methods and procedures. Knowledge of medical and nursing terminology. Ability to prepare educational and training materials for nursing care programs. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Ability to instruct, supervise and direct the work of paraprofessional staff. Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of served consumers and the ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations.

Additional Comments

This position qualifies for a $3,000 bonus. This bonus will be issued at the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs for Licensed Practical Nurse II (EA15) and Registered Nurse II (EA30) new hires as critical needs in accordance with Section 117.65 of the 2018-2019 Appropriations Act. The bonus will be distributed after one, six and twelve months of successful continuous Full Time employment.

This position is eligible to earn overtime according to the Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.

Covered nonexempt employees must receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per workweek at a rate not less than one and one-half times the regular rate of pay.

**This position is considered “ESSENTIAL” and the incumbent is expected to be available during licensing/certification, critical weather, drills, etc.
