As a Systems Engineer for our Passenger Transit business, we’ll rely on you to design and coordinate product development projects for our state-of-the-art rail passenger transit brake, brake control and coupler systems. You’ll use your strategic thinking to help anticipate problems and recognize and eliminate barriers throughout the project,ensuring logical and systematic conversion of our product requirements into total system solutions, and taking into account technical schedule and cost constraints. From your initial high-level drawings and descriptions, to your end-stage analysis, you’ll take a hands-on role throughout the design lifecycle and have a huge impact on our products’ success.

Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Designing and coordinating the technical aspects of projects

  • Extensive and regular contact with assigned project Clients' technical staff

  • Coordinating and reviewing high-level engineering deliverables, including RAMS

  • Checking product deliverables for requirements compliance and system compatibility

  • Establishing requirements and plans for products, testing, implementation, and car acceptance

  • Coordinating system development tasks to include design, integration and formal testing

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role associated with a design life cycle (planning, concept, requirements, design, implementation, testing, maintenance)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical/Mechatronic, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering

  • A high degree of negotiation and management skills is required.

  • A desire for customer satisfaction and customer interaction

  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player

  • Highly developed skill related to planning, requirements, design, architecture, verification and validation, testing and problem solving

  • Knowledgeable in IEEE/EN/IEC Standards

  • Rail experience, in particular related to brake control, wheel slide control, or networks, is preferred
