SC Department of Public Safety Emergency Preparedness Coordinator II (Public Health/PHP/HPP)-Florence Health Dept. (Negotiable) in Florence County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates the preparation of the regional contributions to the grant applications, work plans and repots in accordance with directives from the HPP Cooperative Grant, Regional Director of Preparedness, and policy/guidance from the Bureau of Public Health Preparedness.
  2. Establish and maintain productive coordination with agencies and organizations affiliated with healthcare delivery to ensure continued situational awareness, information sharing and healthcare preparedness.
  3. Develop and maintain regional healthcare coalition ensuring a platform for collaboration of organizations and agencies affiliated with healthcare delivery and emergency response.
  4. Coordinate, plan and conduct public health related emergency preparedness and response training, periodic disaster drills and exercises.
  5. Serves in designated coordination/emergency operations center in support of Emergency Response.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

*State Minimum Requirements: *A bachelor's degree and experience in emergency planning, operational planning, public health management, or other related work experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

*Agency Additional Requirements: *A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant program experience (i.e. knowledge of how health care facilities function). All new employees who are healthcare providers will be required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment. DHEC employees are required to participate in disaster preparedness during hazardous weather or declaration of an emergency. This involves being subject to duty and or call on a 24-hour basis. You must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable transportation. This position may require working early (before 8:30 am), evening (after 5:00 pm) and/or Saturday's. Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Additional Comments

DRIVING RECORD: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
