Job Description Summary

This role will plan the day to day execution and technical support for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing. The AME team (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) is recognized as a key manufacturing technology leader within their organization and provides technical leadership for the production team. The successful candidate will support efforts to consistently improve product and process quality. They will interface with global counter-parts to achieve program goals and integrate global activities when necessary. Responsibilities include providing documentation and floor support associated with safety, manufacturing and quality methods, tooling, and equipment. Aggressively initiate new processes and methods that will improve safety, reduce product cost and/or improve product quality.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead supply chain side of program execution that leads to overall MR Quality improvements by standardizing and introducing platform solutions. Examples include but not limited to Common covers, Patient Table, Magnet etc.

  • Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.

  • Lead scheduling, materials set-up and procurement, costing and documentation to prepare for introducing new products and executing NPI/Transfer activities. This will include ensuring that the supply chain is ready to launch a product at the right quality and capacity.

  • Work with Production Associates to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance through Qualification and Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance.

  • Develop new process and workstation designs to reduce cycle time and support the lean manufacturing initiative.

  • Monitor and improve productivity, through the use of Lean Six Sigma or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner.

  • Troubleshoot production and packaging equipment

  • Participate in early focus on manufacturability in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs.

  • Drive rigor in internal and external process capability assessment, process layout, tooling and equipment development, and QMS Design Transfer execution

  • Provide Technical support

  • Specify and expedite planned maintenance routines on all production equipment and systems

  • Co-ordination of manufacturing releases

  • Lead Compliance, as well as Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals

  • Driving LEAN manufacturing implementation

  • Provide safe processes that comply with all local and federal regulations. Assure that corrective action is taken to resolve observed safety concerns in all areas.
