Patient Service Rep (Health Insurance)
Overview of Position
A Patient Service Representative handles inbound calls. The representatives respond to incoming calls from the customers to, answer questions and inquiries, provide information, handle complaints and file claims.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Answering phones from customers professionally and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
Researching required information using available resources.
Fling claims, updating insurance information as requested by the customers.
Identifying, escalating priority issues and reporting to the high-level management.
Routing inbound calls to the appropriate resources.
Following up complicated customer calls where required.
Recording details of comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken.
Communicating and coordinating with internal departments.
Other duties as assigned.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Familiarity with health insurance or medical billing preferred
Experience in a call center environment
Good computer skills- MS Office programs
High school diploma or equivalent.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written with proper grammar.
Ability to work with others in a close manner.
Good multi-tasking skills.
Able to react effectively and calmly in emergencies.
Able to maintain customer confidentiality.
What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
General Office Demands
Work from home position. Equipment will be provided.
Monday through Friday.- 10 AM to 7 PM Eastern Standard Time
