U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) in Fort Jackson, South Carolina

Summary

About the Position: This a term not to exceed 13 months position as a Administrative Support Assistant (OA) with the U.S. Army Chaplain School, Fort Jackson, SC.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of manual and automated administrative functions and services in support of the Training Directorate.

Provide advice/assistance on a wide variety of management administrative projects, studies, and initiatives which support the accomplishment of the organizations mission.

Assist the Training Directorate in preparation of reports, briefings, excel spreadsheets, etc. related to resource management.

Provide guidance and information to students, external/internal employees to resolve problems and complete mission requirements.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing general administrative functions and procedures within an organization; skill in development and dissemination of administrative directives; consolidation of reports; management of correspondence, records, billings and the coordination of training classes. Utilize Microsoft office such as excel spreadsheets for the preparation of reports and briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) 51 - General Administration and Support position. You may claim military spouse preference (MSP). Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as a TERM appointment NTE 13 months, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. TERM appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years and may be made permanent without further competition.
