As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Enterprise Testing Officer responsible for executing issue validation and targeted/emerging risk testing programs for Consumer & Small Business Banking Independent Testing & Validation. This position will primarily perform issue validation and/or targeted/emerging testing assignments of processes owned by Consumer and Small Business Banking as well as other select business units as needed. The successful candidate will interact regularly with Compliance and Operational Risk teams, line of business partners as well as others in the Second Line of Defense and Wells Fargo Audit Services. The issue validation and targeted/emerging risk programs will ensure consistency with Enterprise Testing and Validation's commitment to our customers, the Wells Fargo Vision & Values and risk appetite.
The successful candidate may be involved in development and design of methodologies and standards for issue validation and/or targeted/emerging testing in alignment with the Risk Management Framework and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of issue validation and/or targeted/emerging risk testing according to standards and other applicable policies. Leads and executes moderate to high risk or complex validations/engagements and communicates emerging risks to management. Escalates any potential new or unsuccessful validations of issues discovered during the completion of the validation. Performs effective and timely testing and provides related independent credible challenge internally. Completes all documentation and appropriately retains all work papers (testing schedule, templates, work-papers, deferrals, deviations, etc.). Solicits and aggregates emerging risks from teams as testing is performed. Leads implementation of initiatives with moderate to high risk. Internal collaboration with business for oversight of risk management. May interface with Audit and Legal on risk related topics. May lead project/virtual teams and may mentor but does not manage other employees.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Other Desired Qualifications
Prior hands-on control testing experience in Operational Risk, Compliance or Audit departments
Knowledge and understanding of audit methodologies and tools that support audit processes
Outstanding problem solving skills
Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution
Prior experience obtaining population datasets and creating randomized samples
3+ years of compliance and controls testing experience
At least 6 years in Audit, Risk and/or Compliance testing operational and compliance controls
Exposure to using a compliance system of record
Experience providing credible challenge to business partners when necessary
Proven ability to implement and influence change and controls across a line of business as work is accomplished through managers/consultants/specialist, cross-functional/virtual team, and matrix teams
Audit or compliance related certification such as the CRCM, CPA, CIA, etc.
