Position Summary: Works with internal and external stakeholders on the development of new and optimization of existing automation and material handling/storage equipment to continuously improve material flow. Provides technical troubleshooting to logistics equipment as appropriate to ensure optimum operational performance. Investigates, selects and implements material handling equipment in the facility.
Responsibilities:
Leads projects to implement automation and material handling/storage equipment to improve material flow.
Lead business cases for new technologies, cost estimates and project calculations.Contributes to the development of the material handling/storage equipment strategic roadmap.
Determines product specifications for the purchase of equipment, defines requirements and ensures technical fulfillment as well as budget adherence.
Contributes to the development of the material handling/storage equipment strategic roadmap.
Leads the technical design for Logistics automation and other material handling/storage equipment.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial and Electrical Engineering preferred.
5+ years’ experience in layout and material flow planning and material handling/storage equipment.
3+ years of experience with Automation and Robotics in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Strong Project Management and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized and able to multi-task.
Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner.
Ability to prioritize and schedule both daily and project tasks.
Ability to travel, both domestic and international, up to 10%.
Working knowledge of ISO-9000, IATF 16949 and ISO-14000 standards and requirements
