Under limited supervision by the County Manager, assists in the development and implementation of intake, probation, and parole Services for youth referred to DJJ. Coordinates ad supervises all aspects of the day to day business of the intake, probation, and parole section and ensures subordinate staff conducts timely and effective management & supervision of cases in accordance with DJJ policy and procedures. Ensures staff monitors juveniles in their home, school. group home, other community or hardware secure facilities. Monitoring includes ensuring each juvenile has a comprehensive plan of supervision based on their risk and needs. Assist subordinate staff in the development of community services where a gap exists. Provide alternatives to incarceration and promotes community safety. Ensures staff prepares and provides comprehensive case work and accurate administrative records, reports, documents while maintaining complete client records, and to include JJMS data entry. Prepares reports/conducts and plan/meetings/staffing. Promotes restorative justice practices to address repair of harm/compensation to victim and community. Participate in job-related training and workshops for professional growth. Preforms other related duties as requested or required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, criminal justice, or related. 4 years experience in strength-based case management, work with community based based programs, intake case management, probation, intensive case management, criminal justice or equivalent related experience.

He/she must have knowledge of federal/state laws & regulations pertaining to juvenile offenders and the juvenile justice system. Knowledge of the objective, techniques and practices of th juvenile justice intake/probation functions.Knowledge of fact-gathering methods & interviewing techniques. Ability to develop. enhance, and work with community collaborative initiatives. Ability to organize amd maintain a case load. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally & written. Ability to facilitate and broker services for juveniles, their families, and victims. Ability to utilize a wide range of graduated responses. He/she must be able to preform their job duties in a variety of setting which may include: an office, courtrooms, client homes, group homes, wilderness camps, schools, as well as hardware secure or specialized juvenile facilities. He/she maybe required to do some overnight traveling on an as needed bases. Must be able to drive & travel throughout the state, and life up to 25lbs. He/she must be able to work with non-incarcerated youth and their families. Must work closely with community partners and sisters agencies in an effort to broker services for the youth. Annually scheduled performance reviews; information conferences as required or requested. Works independently or groups with some discretion when needed.
