SC Department of Public Safety Trades Specialist III (61036984) Band/Level 3/B (350.01) ***Internal Applicants Only*** in Greenville County, South Carolina
Under general supervision, tests and maintains equipment use in everyday operations of District #3 Traffic Signal Shop. Assists technicians with installation and repairs of all communication equipment and fiber optic lines. Assists with programming of traffic controllers and setup of signal cabinets for District #3 Signals and on contractor projects. Performs test on equipment needed for annual inspections of signals. Assists Signal Programmer with setup, changes and troubleshooting of signal cabinets and controllers for District #3 Signals and contractor burn in requirements. Assists Signal Inspector with annual inspections of traffic signals in District #3. Performs other related duties as required by supervisor or crew leader.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A 10th grade education and four and one-half (4.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A Valid commercial driver's license. (Note): This positions requires a class A commercial driver's license. However, applicants without a class A commercial driver's license will be considered if no qualified applicants with a class A commercial driver's license are available. However, applicants are required to obtain a class A commercial driver's license within six (6) months of employment.
May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays, and during inclement weather or other emergencies.
Salary: $22,625.00 - $41,866.00 Annually
