Job Description Summary
We are seeking a creative and driven professional for the GE Gas Power Communications Intern role. This role reports directly to the Internal Communications Leader, but will work closely with the Internal, External and Commercial Communications teams.
Job Description
GE Gas Power communications is looking for an intern to contribute to our internal, external and commercial communications efforts. The qualified candidate will be a quick and creative thinker, have unique ideas and an eye for detail, be highly organized, and enjoy working independently as much as in a team environment. This position will work with our communications team to impact our stakeholders across the business. Successful interns will gain deep experience in a large corporate communications environment, learn a valuable and diverse set of skills experientially, and depart with useful contacts to further their career and development as communications professionals.
Essential Responsibilities
The duration of the internship will be up to 40 hours a week for 3 months with the ability to extend.
During the internship, the candidate will:
Collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders to plan and execute communications tactics for multiple audiences.
Gain experience in developing professional and impact business social media content.
Draft content and curate articles for distribution on internal communications channels.
Support culture initiatives.
Provide support for business community relations initiatives.

Qualifications / Requirements
Pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, media/multimedia, or a comparable program
Excellent oral and written expression in English, any additional language is a plus.
Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
Must be 18 year of age or older
Desired Characteristics
Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with the Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is preferred
Demonstrated strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
Positive, flexible, team-oriented attitude
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
Self-starter
Creative thinker
