The Beach House - NVHG Banquet Manager in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Manages all banquet activities, including set up of banquet space and service of food and beverages, to ensure that groups using the hotel's banquet facilities are completely satisfied in accordance with the standards of the Hotel. Manages Supervisors, set up, and service staff to ensure timely, accurate room set up of food and beverage service according to client specifications. Ensures appealing, creative, and consistent presentation of all food and beverages. Greets guests upon arrival; retains a visible presence throughout the function; resolves guest complaints and answer questions to customer's satisfaction. Carries outmanagerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. With assistance of Catering Director, hires banquet staff as needed to maintain adequate staffing levels for department; coaches and counsels employees regarding career and personal development; conducts performance evaluation and provides feedback to employees. Assists in training banquet staff to ensure proper set up, serving and clean up procedures. Coaches team to consistently meet or exceed the standards set by the hotel and enforces uniform standards. Prepares schedules and assigns duties to banquet wait staff, and set up personnel. Schedule is flexible according to event schedule, weekends and holidays are required. Handles cash transactions as necessary and keeps a balanced bank. Maintains adequate inventory levels to meet projected needs. Conducts monthly inventory of all Banquet supplies linens, all beverages, glasses, china, flatware, serving utensils, candles, and decorations; requisitions additional supplies as needed. Maintains strict control over all Audio Visual equipment, cleans and stores all equipment in a secure manner. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position. At all times projects a favorable image and performs all other duties as assigned by FandB Manager, Supervisors, and Hotel Management.Three years experience in banquet service with one year in Management capacity. Must have comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette. Comprehensive knowledge of BEOs is necessary. Must be able to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both orally and written. Must exhibit positive interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs and varied business contacts. Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items. Must be able to lift and carrying up to 75 lbs, have the ability to use stairs on a regular basis, and work in all types of weather conditions.For more information, or to apply now, you must go to the website below.
