Position Description

The primary purpose of the Clerk is receiving, storing and issuing or assisting users in locating needed warehouse items. Warehouse is defined as the physical warehouse buildings and other assigned storage containers or facilities.

Position Requirements

  • Ø Unloading delivery trucks, checking and storing incoming parts and materials, processing receipt information into the Lawson computer system.

  • Ø Monitor delivery of bulk fuels.

  • Ø Promptly and courteously assist counter customers by issuing parts and materials and or helping users (employees and contractors) locate and remove parts and materials

  • Ø Prepare and/or process issue and returns tickets into the Lawson system or other record system

  • Ø Files open purchase orders in 'open PO files'

  • Ø Files closed purchase orders in 'closed PO files'

  • Ø Assist in transferring materials to the job site, when directed or needed

  • Ø Check oil levels in fuel tanks and shop lubricants, order deliverys as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels.

  • Ø Perform or assist in performing complete physical count of inventory when needed

  • Ø Perform operator inspections of fork lift daily or as needed

  • Ø Assist in clean-up and disposal of accumulated 'used materials

  • Ø Pickup and delivery of materials and supplies when directed to do so

  • Ø Call & order normally stocked items if needed to fill an immediate or emergency need. (Normally stocked items are those which do not result in or require competitive pricing.)

  • Ø Assist with or obtain competative pricing on items as needed per purchasing requirements.

  • Ø Train other employees, when needed, how to operate a fork truck. This is an occasional duty.

  • Ø Where requested, coordinate purchase of materials and services

  • Ø Expedite purchase of material and provide status to requestor

  • Ø Assist customers in meeting objectives of cost control, quality and schedule with direction

  • Ø Communicate among Operations, Vendors, Accounts Payable, Vendor Maintenance and Procurement to resolve internal and external issues and provide status updates in a timely manner Other duties as assigned

  • Ø Other duties as assigned

  • Must have a valid drivers license

  • Ø Basic computer skills ( (Word / Excel / Outlook)

  • Ø Must be able to take direction / supervision and work cooperatively with others

  • Ø May be subject to inclement weather

  • Ø Must be able to sit / stand for extended periods of time

  • Ø Must be able to lift / carry 50 lbs.

  • Ø Work overtime as needed
