Ameresco CDL Truck Driver - Federal in Jackson, South Carolina

New opportunity based at the SC Tire Processing Facility for a CDL Truck Driver to transport freight materials for biomass heating plant project operations located at the Savannah River Site based in Aiken, South Carolina.


Primarily responsible for the safe operation of CDL Class A level Tractor-Semi Trailer and Straight Truck commercial vehicles to transport freight materials in a timely manner for project site and regional business operations.Receive materials transport instructions from supervisor in advance, including destination, purpose, timeline, and delivery information.Perform and log vehicle inspections at start/ close of each workday and before/ during/ after trips, ensuring safe preparation to operate and the freight shipment load is properly secured.Assemble, maintain, and assure completion of proper licensure and documentation required for operation and shipment transport within the vehicle and available for inspection.Maneuver truck into loading and unloading positions, assist with materials transfer.Weigh truck as needed and document to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory guidelines.Complete, maintain, and submit accurate daily operation logs, record keeping, and documentation.Participate in ongoing site operations and vehicle safety training required to maintain Class A Commercial Driver License issued by the State of South Carolina in good standing.Promptly report motor vehicle damage, deficiency, accident, and related concerns to Company Management.Foster and cultivate positive and effective business relationships with all parties.Serve as a positive and professional representative of the Company through responsible motor vehicle operation and maintenance.Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory safety, standards, and protocols.Perform other duties as required.


Minumum Qualifications

Current and valid Class A Commercial Driver License issued by the State of South Carolina and in good standing.

Minimum 5 years recent and safe commercial driving experience in a Class A motor vehicle (Tractor-Semi Trailer and Straight Truck), including clear vehicle operation record.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Ability to pass DOT, DOE, Company, and position screening, licensing, training, and badging requirements and standards, including satisfactory completion of medical physical examination and substance testing.Ability to satisfactorily complete ongoing project site, motor vehicle operation, DOT, and DOE training, testing, and program requirements.Ability to perform all responsibilities in accordance with Company, Federal, and State policies, procedures, and regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. & physically transport equipment & tools in excess of 300 lbs.Basic Computer skills including email and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Strong verbal, written, computer communication and presentation skills.May require flexibility for ‘on call’ support or varied schedule needs.
