SC Department of Public Safety Acct/Fiscal Analyst I - Finance Specialist in Lexington County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

To assist in the processing of the fiscal operations of the division, including grants administration, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Supports the Recovery and Mitigation Division in budgeting, accounting, and financial functions associated with the Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, and Hazard Mitigation grant programs associated with a Presidential Disaster declaration. Processes all transactions concerning assigned accounts, maintains financial files for audit purposes, provides all necessary information and documentation needed for funds transfers, journal entries, and ledger entries. Performs and/or coordinates complex professional duties in the review and maintenance of accounting records, the verification and reimbursement documentation for financial transactions and the preparation and management of various recovery grants. Provides recommendations to Recovery Program staff on issues that require action or attention by leadership.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and one year related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. (Experience may be substituted for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.) Employee must possess an overall knowledge of emergency preparedness programs and a thorough in-depth knowledge of state, federal, and local budgeting systems and procedures.
