SC Department of Public Safety Program Coordinator I - Dietetics/Opticianry/Optometry/LTHC in Lexington County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

Provides interpretation of laws, regulations and related policy matters for licensees, applicants, and general public. Assists Administrator with monitoring and maintaining website information for all assigned boards/panel. Provide assistance in the modification of existing programs for all assigned boards/panel. Responsible for the preparation and notification for all assigned boards/panel. Prepares and posts meeting agendas, notices, prepares travel vouchers and places board meeting information on the secure website/laptops for board members. Provides informatory and regulatory information to keep board members fully informed, maintaining consistency with prior Board/Panel decisions. Records and transcribes meeting minutes for all assigned boards/panel. Assists with processing of initial, renewal and reinstatement applications for-all assigned boards/panel. Assists with processing of initial, renewal and reinstatement applications for-all assigned boards/panel. Assists in review and approval of CE courses as directed. Performs criminal background checks on applicants. Performs other related duties as required. Sits in on JRC committee meetings for all assigned boards/panel and assists Administrator with ensuring compliance with board policies regarding the IRC. Assists investigators in coordinating information for violation cases as needed, prepares correspondence and administrative citations as directed. Plans and coordinates support service activities to include: purchasing, inventory, and computer management. Recommends approval of expenditures and disbursements, maintains control of property equipment and other assets. Orders supplies, etc. for all boards/panel. Submits appropriate paperwork to procurement and finance. Responsible for research and gathering of information for Freedom of Information requests. Works with Governmental Affairs to comply with law. Researches complex issues and assists in special assignments and projects.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. A combination of education, relevant training and experience may be considered in substitution for the bachelor's degree, upon approval by the State Human Resources Division.

Ability to bend, lift, carry, move and position objects weighing up to 30 lbs. Ability to bend and squat in upper and lower file drawers. Occasional overnight travel.
