SC Department of Public Safety Trade Specialist II 2B (61033846) in Lexington County, South Carolina
Trains In the operation of 5 yard standard dump truck to haul equipment and materials to and from jobsite. Ensures tarp is in place and all loose material has been removed from sides of truck before operation begins. Trains In proper snow plowing and sanding techniques. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and keeps record of the same. Trains in activities including litter pickup, asphalt repairs, minor guard rall repairs, right- of-way fence repairs, clearing of right-of-way and brush management. Ensures all work is completed by SCDOT standards and ensures that work area is left dressed and all excess materials and debris removed. Trains ln the construction of complex work zones with traffic control devices required by the SCMUTCD manual for interstate routes. This Position is located at District 1 - Lexington Maintenance
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resource Regulations. Necessary Special Requirement: Requires attainment of a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement In the position.
