BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Value Stream Leader: Intermittent Catheters in Moncks Corner, South Carolina

Reports directly to the Operations Manager. Leads the Intermittent product value stream from dipping through packaging. Responsible for improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost to meet plant strategies and objectives. Maintains the entire value stream map of the Intermittent Catheter process with the support and guidance of the Continuous Improvement Leader to develop and implement a strategic plan for continuous improvement of the value stream. Specific focus on eliminating waste; WIP reduction, cycle time reduction & productivity improvements. Focus on standard work, capacity planning, as well as coordination of supporting new product introductions with manufacturing resources.

  • Maintains current & future state Value Stream Map of Intermittent process with focus on cycle time improvements

  • Develops & leads the strategic and tactical plans to improve the value stream through waste elimination

  • Leads capacity planning in conjunction with materials department & production supervisors to optimize labor, materials, & equipment resources to minimize WIP and cost

  • Support plant CI team by identifying opportunities within Intermittent value stream for kaizen events

  • Works in conjunction with plant and division resources on new product introductions; responsible for coordination of all labor resource requirements

  • Leads and provides guidance & direction to cross-functional support groups of the Intermittent Value stream to ensure achievement of plant goals and objectives specific to Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost

  • Serves as the Plants product and process Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Intermittent Value Stream

  • Partners with Process Control on scrap reduction initiatives within the value stream

  • Partners with Quality to ensure compliance within the value stream

  • Willingness to travel 5%

  • 5+ years in Manufacturing environment with supervisory experience in addition to project management and or lean experience.

  • BS Degree in Engineering or Business

  • Structured analytical and problem solving techniques

  • Working knowledge of cGMPs and ISO

  • Strong interpersonal skills including communication, facilitation, consulting, coaching, and influencing

  • Knowledgeable in Lean and Six Sigma

  • Ability to work effectively with Senior Management

  • Demonstrated project management excellence. Track record of results

  • Strategic Business Sense

  • Excellent team facilitation/leadership skills. Teamwork/collaborative style

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks

  • Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Minitab)
