Under general supervision, provide administrative support to the employee health nurse consultant. Contacts new and existing respirator and medical monitoring employees, and schedules new and annual physicals. Have daily contact with outsourcing provider scheduling physicals and communicating related information. Keeps detailed excel spreadsheets of medical monitoring employees. Checks outsourcing provider’s portal daily for results from employees sent to their facility for physicals or reviews. Reviews monthly medical monitoring bills for accuracy and sends to procurement for payment.
Composes a list of 30-year-old x-rays, get approval from the compliance officer to dispose and destroy 30-year-old x-rays in compliance with the public records act. Checks and records immunization refrigerator temperature (once in the morning and once in the afternoon). Distributes and opens mail, files and sends information to new and active employees, and keeps active employee health files up to date. Answer employees’ questions and emails and perform other employee health related duties.
Coordinates and plans with employee health nurse the annual prevention partners program. Contacts insurance provider and outsourcing provider and implement the program. Coordinates with outsourcing provider regarding registrations, scheduling appointments and answering questions related to the program. Assists outsourcing provider on the day of the clinics. Assists employee health nurse with the coordination of flu clinics whether outsourcing or within DHEC. Orders supplies and keeps mobile units ready to perform clinics and assist with clinics as necessary. Compiles employee flu vaccination numbers for weekly flu report. Other tasks as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements
*State Minimum Requirements: * A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
**Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements:** Ability to perform complex administrative and clerical duties. Ability to deal effectively with the public handling inquiries and communicating information. Ability to schedule workloads, prioritize, maintain employee health files and billing records. Knowledge of medical terminology, grammatical rules, word processing, word, excel, copier, adding machine, and office management practices. Must be able to adhere to confidentiality and HIPPA regulations. Occasional travel may be required. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., bend, and stoop.
