SC Department of Public Safety Attorney - 60024270 in Richland County, South Carolina
The person in this position will assist in educator misconduct cases by reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, prepare cases for trial and present cases, negotiate consent agreements, draft orders, and present cases to the State Board of Education. Prepare litigation summaries and exhibits for the Certification Review Committee (CRC). Serve as a member of the CRC. Represent the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) in civil actions and Human Resource matters before administrative agencies and state and federal courts as assigned. Assist with administering the mediation and impartial due process hearing processes. This position is located in the Office of General Counsel.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A juris doctor degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school.
Minimum requirements and a South Carolina Bar membership required.
