POSITION PURPOSE: Provides behavior modification and social skills training for at-risk students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide behavior modification for at-risk students in a group setting.
Provide social skills training for at-risk students on an individual and group basis.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop behavior management plans.
Document and provide summary notes on students, behavior and interventions used.
Participate in team meetings and staffing for students.
Use Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques with students during intense episodes or outbursts.
Provide special monitoring for students enrolled in special education programs.
Communicate with parents and community agencies as needed.
Perform other related duties as necessary.
Participate in training provided on an on-going basis.
Perform and promote all activities in compliance with policies of the Board of Education.
Review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and District policies.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors of Science or Arts in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, and district identified database program applications.
Experience working with at-risk youth.
