POSITION PURPOSE: Provides behavior modification and social skills training for at-risk students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide behavior modification for at-risk students in a group setting.

  • Provide social skills training for at-risk students on an individual and group basis.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop behavior management plans.

  • Document and provide summary notes on students, behavior and interventions used.

  • Participate in team meetings and staffing for students.

  • Use Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques with students during intense episodes or outbursts.

  • Provide special monitoring for students enrolled in special education programs.

  • Communicate with parents and community agencies as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

  • Participate in training provided on an on-going basis.

  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with policies of the Board of Education.

  • Review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.

  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and District policies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, and district identified database program applications.

  • Experience working with at-risk youth.
