SC Department of Public Safety Carpenter-60009487 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina
Performs all campus wide carpentry and cabinet making duties covering 38 buildings and 160 acres of facilities. Repairs all locks and cuts new keys. Prepares forms, pours and finishes concrete. Assist brick mason in laying of block and brick. Coordinates and conducts monthly fire extinguisher inspections. Repairs, replaces and maintains all door/entrances.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma or GED or trade experience directly related to the area of employment. Requires at least 5 years' general maintenance experience in such areas of carpentry, masonry, electric, plumbing and HVAC. Must have proof of training in lock repairs equivalent to agency's lock system. Must have skill in the use of various trade tools and equipment. Must also have skills in making emergency and general repairs. This position also requires the ability to use judgement and initiative to coordinate job completion, oversee construction projects, conduct preventative maintenance, follow safety procedures and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
