  • OBJECTIVE:*

Join a team of Security Professionals who are actively working to ensure the safety and security of Bishop Gadsden residents and property. We foster a sense of comradery and family while delivering professional security services. Starting Pay of $14.42 per hour plus shift differential.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*

  • Actively patrol halls and grounds of the community on a regular basis throughout shift.

  • Participate in parking enforcement to assure valid authorization is present and visible.

  • Secure the building and grounds and report any threats or hazards.

  • Provide high visibility and display a professional appearance.

  • Conduct threat assessments and investigations while on patrol.

  • Complete incident reports as needed.

  • Respond to emergency pager according to procedure.

  • Assist nurse on duty during emergencies.

  • Work with and direct EMS, Fire and Police when necessary.

  • Direct and assist BG personnel as needed.

  • Investigate incidents as they arise and detect deficiencies and hazards.

  • Follow procedures as directed.

  • Conduct and perform fire drills according to procedure.

  • Check fire extinguishers and assist in monthly and annual inspections.

  • Trap and neutralize wildlife as necessary.

  • Foster relationships with Bishop Gadsden residents and employees.

  • BISHOP GADSDEN RESPONSIBILITIES:*

  • Assume accountability for department and facility policies and procedures and assume accountability for information contained in the current employee handbook.

  • Adhere to established facility and departmental safety policies and procedures.

  • Participate in facility fire drill procedures.

  • Perform all responsibilities with adherence to Resident’s Rights and HIPAA.

  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times.

  • Adhere to the Bishop Gadsden dress code policy and guidelines.

  • Participate in educational and departmental opportunities.

  • Attend mandatory continuing education sessions.

  • Attend department meetings and/or educational opportunities as required.

  • Attend facility functions and demonstrate interest in Bishop Gadsden activities.

  • Show evidence of working as a team member.

  • Adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements.

  • Accept additional duties as necessary in a cooperative manner.

  • Observe fiscal responsibility in use of Bishop Gadsden resources and purchases made on behalf of Bishop Gadsden.

  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:*

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.

  • Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material.

  • Ability to walk and stand for many hours.

  • Ability to climb steps.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted. More with assistance.

  • Ability to work weekends.

  • Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees.

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:*

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • General experience in security preferred.

  • Valid SC driver’s license.
