Responsibility to ensure a safe work environment, provide premier customer service, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvement.
Checks machined parts by CMM and hard gauges.
Ability to understand and complete length and radius off-sets and checks.
Basic understanding of how to read a blueprint.
Working knowledge of the metric system.
Ability to troubleshoot / diagnose production issues.
Changes cutting tools as necessary and verifies part quality.
Presets cutting tools following current Akebono procedures/systems.
Performs routine maintenance checks at beginning of shift.
Performs cleaning of machines both internal and external.
Assists in documenting Montronix alarms, damaged tools, and scrap reporting.
Performs general housekeeping measures around machining lines.
Train?s loaders on proper techniques for loading and unloading machines.
Loads and unloads machines on a rotation schedule
Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
Performs work order entry into the MP2 system.
Monitors Production rates and reports at end of shift.
Performs all quality checks according to Akebono Quality System. Understands and demonstrates knowledge of quality system ? QS/TS database system.
Responsible for notifying support groups.
Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position) High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of 6 months experience working in a CNC industrial environment.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Must take and pass a Work Keys assessment test.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
Physical Demands/Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk/move; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
